This is the time of year when everyone warms up those ovens and starts baking away. What is one of your fall favorite recipes to make? Is it a pie? Or maybe cookies? Well, I have a recipe that you should give a try. It is for a spiced pear bread. I know that most people in the habit of making banana bread or pumpkin bread, but believe me when I say, you HAVE to give this spiced pear bread a try! It will not disappoint!

It takes about an hour and twenty minutes to make. This recipe will yield two loaves. So if you do not have a large family, you could make them and give one away as a gift. Or you could also toss the second one in the freezer and have it for later.

Other than the ingredients to make this spiced pear bread, you will need a few other items. You will need two 8×4 inch loaf pans and two large mixing bowls. You will also need a mixer or whisk. Well, I guess you could mix with a fork if you had to.

Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 ½ cups pears – peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
Instructions
  1. First you want to preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Next grease two 8x4 inch loaf pans lightly.
  2. Now in large bowl, add the oil, eggs and sugar. Beat until fully mixed. Then stir in pecans, vanilla and pears. In the other mixing bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Now you will need to mix dry ingredients with the pear mixture; mix until fully blended. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pans.
  3. Bake in oven for 60 minutes, or until fork or toothpick inserted into center of the loaf, comes out with no batter sticking to it. Remove from oven and leave in the pans for about 10 minutes to cool. Then you will want to remove from pans and put on a wire cooling rack until fully cooled.

I do not know about you, but one of m all time favorite snacks is a Rice Krispies treat! However, I have found something that is even better! It is this recipe for Mint Chocolate Rice Krispies Treats. If you love mint and chocolate, this is one of those MUST try recipes. I do not know if I will ever make the plain ones again because these just taste so wonderful!

When making this Mint Chocolate Rice Krispies Treats recipe, it is pretty much like you would make the normal ones with just a few things different. I think it is a pretty nice mix of the mint and chocolate, however, feel free to add more or less of the mint if you like. I used chocolate Rice Krispies in this, but if you do not have any, you can use plain and add some cocoa powder in.

This is one of those recipes you will want to make when you have to take a dish somewhere or if you will have a lot of kids in the house to help. It is not a diet friendly recipe, and if you are anything like me, you can not be left alone with these….lol.

Ingredients
  • 3 TBS Butter
  • 6 cups Chocolate Rice Krispies
  • 6 cups Marshmallows
  • ½ tsp Peppermint Extract
  • 1 cup Andes Creme De Menthe Baking Chips
  • Topping;
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Andes Creme De Menthe Baking Chips
Instructions
  1. Spray a 9"x13" baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In large sauce pan, melt butter on low heat. Once melted, stir in marshmallows and continue to stir. When marshmallows are melted, turn off heat and stir in chocolate rice Krispies. Once thoroughly mixed, stir in Andes baking chips. Scoop mixture into baking dish, making sure to spread evenly and press into corners. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a double boiler, or in the microwave, melt chocolate chips. Once completely melted, spread across top of rice Krispies. Spread evenly and to the edges. Sprinkle the remaining Andes baking chips across the top. Let cool for a couple of hours, or put in the refrigerator. Cut into desired size and serve!

We have put together a yummy and fast recipe for the Caprese Grilled Cheese Sandwich. It only takes a few minutes to make and abut five to eight minutes to cook depending on your stove or grill. The key to making this sandwich is cooking it really low. When cooked to fast, the bread will darken before the sandwich and cheese is heated all the way through.

Ingredients
  • Two ½ inch Slices Of Good Bread (I Used Ciabatta)
  • 1 Slice Havarti Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Freshly Grated Parmesan
  • 2-3 Leaves of Basil, Washed and Torn
  • 2 Tablespoons Sun-Dried Tomatoes
  • Olive Oil for Brushing
Instructions
  1. Brush the outside of each slice of bread with olive oil.
  2. To build your sandwich, top one piece of bread with the Parmesan, followed by the tomatoes, basil and Havarti.
  3. Heat a grill pan over medium heat and lightly brush with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Place the sandwich in the middle of the pan and grill it for 3-4 minutes. You want to cook this low and slow. Too high of a heat will result in a sandwich that isn't warm on the inside.
  5. When the sandwich is golden brown on one side, carefully flip it and cook on the other until it's golden brown and the cheese is melted.

I have the list of ingredients that was used to make the Bimbimbap recipe you see in the picture. However this is a recipe that is very easy to change to your liking. Simply use the veggies that you like most or have the most of from your garden. You really can not go wrong when it comes to using fresh produce. If you do not have fresh produce available, it can be made with frozen. The taste is not as good, but not bad.

This Bimbimbap recipe is also a vegetarian dish. Plus I am sure if you get gluten free soy sauce, it can be gluten free as well! Really is just one of those recipes that is all around good for just about everyone!

Ingredients
  • 1 bunch Spinach,
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 cups of bean sprouts
  • 2 cups of mushrooms
  • 2 yellow squash (or zucchini)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Olive oil
  • Soy sauce and Sesame oil
  • Salt
  • Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
  1. Cook each vegetable separately, in low heat, with a Tbsp of olive oil and a little of the garlic, until it's cooked.
  2. Make sure you save enough garlic for each vegetable you cook.
  3. Once you've cooked them all, drizzle about 2 Tbsp of sesame oil over the vegetables and season to your liking.
  4. In a deep bowl add your white rice (sushi rice is best), then arrange your vegetables over the rice.
  5. Add 1 Tbsp of soy sauce over your dish and serve.
  6. You may also top it off with a sunny side up egg, for protein.
  7. Note that you can really adjust this recipe and select any vegetables you wish.

Ingredients
  • ½ C Vegetable Oil
  • ¾ C Cocoa
  • 2 C Sugar
  • 1¾th C All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Eggs room temp.
  • 1½ t Baking Soda
  • 1½ tea Baking Powder
  • ½ bag of Graham Crackers
  • 1½ tea Salt
  • ½ C small Marshmallows
  • 1 C Milk
  • Frosting Ingredients
  • ⅓ C milk
  • 1 C Sweet Cream Butter
  • 3 C powdered sugar
  • 1 TBSP Marshmallow extract
  • ⅔ C Cocoa
Instructions
  1. Heat your oven to 350 and line cupcake pan with cupcake liners
  2. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in large bowl. Add your eggs, milk, and oil. Beat with a mixer for 2 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Break Graham crackers in half and place in ziplock bag. Pound with cookie roller until finely crushed.
  4. Scoop 1 Tablespoon of graham cracker into cupcake tin and then scoop chocolate cake batter onto graham cracker. Push in 3 small marshmallows in center.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Let cupcakes cool. Once cooled, put on wire rack.
  7. Directions for frosting:
  8. Place softened butter in mixing bowl and add in the cocoa and powder sugar. Mix on low until combined. Scrap sides and add in the extract.
  9. Add in heavy cream and scrap down the sides.
  10. Garnish with graham cracker crumbs, marshmallows and a hershey.

Ingredients
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Pinch Of Salt
  • 1 Pinch Of Cinnamon
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 3 Cup Flour
  • 1 Cup Shortening
  • 1 13 oz Jar of Raspberry Preserves
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven at 375 degrees
  2. -Spray a 9X13 pan with a non-spray cooking spray ( I used a smaller one to get a thicker bar)
  3. -Combine the sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon.
  4. -Mix the dry ingredients together.
  5. -Add the shortening and egg.
  6. - Hand mix until crumbly.
  7. -Divide the dough into half.
  8. - Take the first half of dough and pat it into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  9. -Spread the preserve mixture onto the top of the first half of dough.
  10. -Gently add the other half of the dough as a crumble to the top.
  11. -Bake at the 375 degrees.
  12. -Bake for 35-45 minutes or until the top is slightly brown.
